Ever since I started photography I’ve had one goal in mind — shoot a magazine cover.
King Snow introduced me to the artistry of snowboarding when I was 12, and print made me want to look deeper, to be fully immersed in the culture. At 16 I was interning at SBC, at 17 I was working as digital editor, then staff at Torment at 18. Now at 20, to have this cover in my hands and to be starting this stack feels unreal.
Magazines are what pulled me into snowboarding, what gave me my first opportunities, and what eventually set me down this path I’m lucky enough to live. I owe print snowboarding everything, and it feels like an honour just to contribute to it.
This one feels like a community achievement — from Toby showing me King Snow when I was 12, to the mentors and support I’ve had since I picked up a camera, to now, this.
Thank you snowboarding. Thank you community.
